Class Overview
Writing 8: Students will learn several writing techniques to include: expository, descriptive, informational & persuasive. Each child is required to participate in either the Virginia Standards of Learning or the Virginia Grade Level Alternative Exam to demonstrate his or her comprehensive knowledge of the skills learned in the 8th grade writing class.
Spelling and vocabulary assignments are given weekly in an effort to promote a successful outcome on the tests mentioned above. Please be informed that the students will have homework in my class at least three times a week. In addition, a spelling test is given every Friday; additional tests and quizzes will be announced in advance.
