Class Overview
Welcome to Ms. Jackson’s 4th grade. There are 15 students in my homeroom class. Fourth grade students receive instruction in reading, spelling, writing, and math daily as well as social studies and science. Social studies is taught by Ms. Jackson and science is taught by Mrs. Washington, who is new to 4th grade this year. Hands-on social studies and science lessons are presented by the art, media, and science resource teachers. This year we have a new time block called Flex Time. During this time, the students rotate through Spanish, Title 1, remediation, and enrichment. Students are encouraged to participate in accelerated reading and monthly reading log. Both programs will strengthen students’ comprehension and fluency. The fourth grade is a fun and exciting experience. I look forward to teaching your child, and working with you. We are anticipating a great year!
