Class Overview
Bienviendos a la clase de las ciencas (Welcome tio the class of science) at Dearington Elementary School for Innovation where kindergarten through fifth grade students at DESI as well as third and fifth graders in the division conduct sciecntific investigations in a fun-filled manner. The science lab classes are full of excitement and students are encouraged to actually become young scientists as they explore a variety of science concepts. The major emphasis of all experiments is on SOL mastery in science. Also, math as it is integrated through many of the science lab lessons. In the lab, science is taught using the inquiry method and students are engaged in critical thinking. While in the science lab students enjoy learning through reading, writing, singing , and most of all through exploring with hands-on experiments. At DESI our slogan is SCIENCE ROCKS! Parents and visitors are always encouraged to stop by the science lab and see what the students are learning. I look forward to a great and very scientific year.
