Class Overview
Kindergarten is one of the most important years in a child’s life. The teachers in the kindergarten unit at R. S. Payne are sensitive to the children and work to strengthen their academic and social development. The areas of reading, math, written language, social studies and science are emphasized as well as the social skills of good citizenship, such as sharing and taking turns, listening and following classroom rules. Communication between home and school is a vital link to a successful year and I welcome parental involvement and conferences. Working together will assure each child a smooth transition and a positive beginning in his or her educational experience.
