Homework
- Homework is not assigned every night, but if it is assigned it WILL be graded! Sometimes homework is graded by completion (either 100% complete or 0% complete) and other times it is checked according to accuracy. Regardless of written homework assignments, students are ALWAYS expected to read their chapters and study any notes given in class. I provide all students with typed notes that are to be kept in their notebooks at all times for easy reference. Feel free to check the website or send me an email to see what unit we are currently studying to ensure your child is always right on track.
- Homework can only count for 7% of your child’s average.
Rules
- Be prepared for class daily
- Please be on time
- Keep hands and objects to yourself at all times
- Be respectful of yourself, your teacher, and your peers
- Do not use profanity or shout out in class
- Ask permission to speak or get out of your seat during class
MAKE UP WORK POLICY!!!!!
I keep 2 baskets on my back book shelf (1 for Earth Science and 1 for Principles of Science). If your child was out or if they simply owe me work to replace zeros for work not turned in, they may get things from their class’ basket at anytime. They do not even have to ask me for it, because it is always there for them to use. I always place extra copies of notes and worksheets in the appropriate baskets. If your child’s grades are slipping for not turning in H.W. assignments, please encourage them to get their work out of the basket and turn it in for a late grade. I am extremely flexible about this, therefore no students should have zeros on a progress report or report card unless they simply refuse to do the work.
Remember: I will deduct 10 points per day unless the child was absent. Any amount points are always better for your child’s grade than a zero!
Tests are not left in the basket as your child will have to arrange a time to come to me and make this up (either during school or after school).
