7th Grade U.S. History - Class Overview
Welcome to 7th Grade U.S. History! I’m Mr. Loos (pronounced like “loose” - it’s German). In this class, we pick up right where 6th grade history left off: post-Reconstruction-present day. We’ll talk about everything from westward expanion to terrorism in today’s world.
Students will do a variety of different things throughout the year. There will be notes, worksheets, quizzes and tests to be sure, but that’s not where the curriculum ends, by any means! We’ll work with the SMARTBoard on a daily basis, where students can write electronically on our large screen projector. We’ll use the CPS, where students have individual remote controls to log in answers. We’ll have posters and projects, go to the computer lab, color maps, utilize the school’s television studio, write and perform songs, write yellow journalistic articles, go on field trips, and much more!
Supplies for this class are very straightforward: large spiral notebook, #2 pencils, loose leaf paper and colored pens or pencils.
So welcome once again to Mr. Loos’s history class! After all, we’ll never know where we’re headed, if we don’t know where we’ve already been!
