Next week, Heritage High School’s boys and girls basketball teams travel to E. C. Glass for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff that is going to be more than just an exciting clash of the top teams in the Seminole District.
On Tuesday, February 5th, Glass will be hosting "Rock the Beat," a benefit for the American Heart Association that is dedicated to the memory of Suzette Quel, a teacher who passed away earlier this year. The initiative is used to inform students, staff and the public on the use of hands-only CPR and how to perform this skill when needed. E. C. Glass fans will be wearing white, and Heritage fans are being encouraged to participate in the "White Out" as well. T-shirts and other promotional items will be sold prior to and during the game to benefit the AHA. Rescuers and survivors will be recognized by the school and the Lynchburg Fire Department.
In addition, there will be an 8-minute unified game for Special Olympians in between the girls and boys games. Both schools are putting together teams.
