The 2015 E.C. Glass varsity football team is holding its annual Pink Game this Friday, October 9. Players will be wearing pink jerseys and honoring cancer victims, survivors, and caregivers. Steve Crank, Chairman of the Awareness Garden Foundation, will be presented a check for $5,000, which matches the amount the team raised last year. It will be applied to a scholarship fund for area students who have been affected by cancer or who are going into a cancer-related field. Last year, three area students were recipients from this scholarship, including a student from Liberty High School, one from Rustburg, and one from E. C. Glass.
Individual sponsors of the players will meet their athletes on Wednesday night at the E. C. Glass cafeteria to share a wonderful meal and stories about their loved ones. Besides the individual sponsors, Generations Solutions and an anonymous donor enabled these events to take place. Congratulations to Coach Woody and the E. C. Glass football team for making a difference.
The Hilltoppers will play Liberty High School at 7:00 p.m. at City Stadium.
