The LCS School Nutrition will be serving the annual Thanksgiving meal on Friday, November 20 and Tuesday, November 24. Cohort B students will be offered the meal during their in-school lunch period on 11/20. Cohort A students will be offered the meal during their in-school lunch period on 11/24. Remote learners and adult family members may pick up the Thanksgiving meal curbside at one of the secondary schools (E. C. Glass and Heritage high schools, and Dunbar, Linkhorne, and Sandusky middle schools) on Friday, November 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. We're grateful to the community leaders who have volunteered to help the staff distribute the meals that Friday at each of the curbside locations.
The Thanksgiving feast includes:
- Roasted turkey with gravy
- Mashed potatoes
- Green beans
- Savory bread stuffing
- Baked apples with Cranberries
- Dinner Roll
The Thanksgiving meal is free to all children ages 18 and younger. Adults may purchase the meal for $5.00. Cash only, please. Exact change is appreciated.
School Nutrition looks forward to sharing this special meal with our LCS community.
Also, please note that school will be closed from Wednesday, November 25 through Friday, November 27. Curbside meals will not be available during this time. However, on Friday, November 20 and Monday, November 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. we will be working with volunteers with Food for Thought to hand out bags of shelf stable food items and boxes of fresh produce meant to bridge the gap in school meal service during the break.
