Lynchburg City Schools congratulates the three new LCS School Board members appointed by the Lynchburg City Council at Tuesday night’s council meeting. In upholding the LCS vision of “A Tradition of Excellence for All'' each new School Board member in their interviews with City Council shared their views that will help LCS accomplish our mission. District 1 will be represented by Anthony Andrews who vocalized “I simply wanna do what’s in the best interest of the kids. Not just my children, but all kids in the community!”. Martin Day will represent District 2 and mentioned how he’d “like the School Board to stay focused on the education of the students and serving them as best we can!”. Gloria Preston, representing District 3, proclaimed “We have to have conversations and develop relationships with teachers, students, and parents so that we do understand where all people are coming from.” LCS is fortunate to have dedicated members of the community who will join our existing School Board members in advocating for the students of Lynchburg and continuing our mission of “Every Child, By Name and By Need, to Graduation.” The three new appointees will begin their terms on July 1, 2022.
