Virginia History DaySarah Phillips of E. C. Glass High School took first place in the Individual Website category at the state level of the Virginia History Day contest in April at Thomas Nelson Community College. Her project, titled "The Printing Press: A Turning Point in Communication," qualifies for the national competition at University of Maryland in June. Also qualifying for national competition were Heritage High School's Rebekah Chun who placed second in the Senior Individual Exhibit; E. C. Glass group Galen Shen and Ann Marie Taheny who placed second in the Senior Group Exhibit; and Linkhorne Middle School’s Ethan Snyder who placed second in the Junior Individual Exhibit.

Others placing at state for LCS were: E. C. Glass group Holly Carrington and Annie Gianakos (3rd) in the Senior Group Performance, Dunbar’s Christopher Sewell, Jonathan Sewell and Brennan Childers (3rd) in the Junior Group Exhibit, and Heritage High School’s Jennifer Roach (3rd) in the Senior Individual Exhibit
